A woman is recovering after she was hit by the rear window of a car in Sydney’s west.
Key points:The car was speeding in the west of Sydney, police sayShe sustained multiple fractures to her right hand and her ribsThe woman was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in SydneyBut the incident was not reported to police and police say they have not been able to determine if the woman was drunk or under the influence of drugs.
“We’ve been investigating this case for a number of months and we’ve not had any reports of a drink or drug issue,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.
“There are no ongoing investigations.”
Police are not ruling out the possibility that the woman could have been drinking, but say it is not an indication that alcohol is involved.
“If we’re looking at the amount of alcohol in a person’s system, we can’t tell,” the spokesperson said, adding that if the person was under the age of 21 and had been drinking alcohol, it would be more likely than not that they would have been under the limit.
“So it’s not a sign of a problem.”
